dungeonbowl.exe is a virus threat!

I've used AVG antivirus (2012 free edition) for years with no complaints, but it is really taking exception to the dungeonbowl.exe. Every time I attempted to load the game, it would warn me that file was a virus and "heal" it for me - there was no option to truly ignore the file, if I chose to "ignore" the threat, it would still make the file inaccessible (it just left it in the containing folder).

To get around this, I would disable the resident shield before I played DB. That seemed to work for the pre-release period. However, anytime AVG scans my computer now, it finds the .exe and "heals" it. I'm getting fed up of reinstalling the game ;)

Other than changing antivirus software from that which I am familiar and happy with, is there a solution to this?

Very grateful for any help that can be given :D

Sounds like an anti-virus issue - it's basically reading a false positive, and believing the game is a virus. I had that problem with AVG back with Legendary Edition, and ended up just swapping to Avast. The resident shield still causes a couple of issues (it can crash the game for no reason), but turning those off makes the game work without any issues.

Not sure if there's anything Cyanide can do :? You'd be best off contacting AVG and informing them about the false positive, and hope they can fix it on their end, since it's their software that is causing the actual problem.

AVG are aware of the issue, it should be fixed in their virus signature database update.

AVG is an awful antivirus nowadays though, despite how good it was back a few years ago - you'd still do well to swap to a better one.

Why? Other than the initial problems back when BB:LE was new (like the one above), I've never had an issue with it - it's certainly not let any "nasties" through. Am I missing something?
(As a side note, I've had less connection issues on our various laptops using AVG than when I tried other antivir such as Avast, so I will need a good reason on why to change!)

It generally ranks lower than other free anti-viruses in terms of protection, and has had a few pretty big holes in it over the last few years. It's basically gone a bit downhill since its hayday.
