Not sure whether there will be a cut-off point for the online format but thinking about this version has reminded me that the longest dungeon bowl match I ever had was between two dwarf teams... It lasted over nine hours. My opponent and I took a break after 5 hours and had a couple of drinks etc and then were both determined to get it finished but it just went on and on for more than another 4 hours as both sides stalemated. In the end we actually called it a draw (not normally a result possible in dungeonbowl) simply because it was...
a) getting extremely late
b) after so much effort from both players we felt that neither of us deserved to lose.
Now ok we weren't playing with two teams according to the official rules at the time (it was an add-on tournament to an existing league) but I think it was still possible to create a full dwarf team (the one that could also take halflings and werewolves
) which means that the two sides capable of being durable enough to compete for such a long time would still be possible (depending on the new rosters). To me that suggests that this version should really have a total game length limit after which it is a draw or else there are gonna be some other mammoth games I'm sure...
