Those are all valid points. I personally agree with your definitions of a 5 + str Big Guy, but I can't speak for anyone other than myself in that one regard. I'll post here if I do get any other details in the future.

:D Ah okay warfish np, thx for answering my questions anyway.

So, if some coaches wine about not every college being able to start with more than 2 STR5 BGs and the game gets nerved to this limitation of only being able to start with 2 STR5 BG per team is it now too late to wine about some colleges not being able to start with 2 (or even 1) AG5 players?...... I kid... I kid.
Or do I?
( Nah, I don't really care)

Ag4 is overpowered, limit people to 2 AV 4 players per team, and leap should definately be banned along with all players who have it :P

If Cyanide follow the rules, they must add Jumping over obstacle to every player following this rule.
I think they dont add it yet because they can't programm it... (maybe the NASA and NSA can't too)

JUMPING OVER THINGS
What with all these nasty obstacles getting in the way, players will
often be tempted to leap over an obstacle. This is just fine, but occasionally
they will blow it big time and fall in, with the effects
described above. A player can jump over an obstacle as part as his
move, each square of the jump costing a square of movement. Roll
a D6 after making the jump, subtracting -1 from the score if there
are any enemy tackle zones on the squares being jumped from or to
(note that you never get more than a -1 modifier, no matter how
many tackle zones are around). If the score is less than the number
of squares jumped over, the player falls in. If the score is equal to
or greater than the number of squares jumped over, then he makes
it safely.

In my opinion you can jump over obstacle or prone player.

In my opinion, you most definitely could not. The trade-off for everyone being able to leap is that you end up in a damned pit if you fail. There's no real downside to jumping over a prone player. Even if you fail you get to the other side.

Good point. For prone player who don't want to stand up, you should be able to foul them without beeing send off/

Btw, it's not the discussion sorry.

Only 2 weeks away and I miss changes like that! Before saying anything about it I would like to know:
  • How came it to be that way?
  • What was the intention?
  • And why was this rule-change picked (over other suggestions)?
For me i simply don't play any matches against a DR from now on. Its boring. If I am in MM and I see one, my opponent gains double mvps before the match starts...

I feel the opposite, when I see one I become all the more determined. I have to admit, there is no more satisfying moment in this game than one of them falls into a pit.

:| So you agree that just having STR5+ alone is not a prerequisite to be considered a BG?
I mean when is a character considered to be a Big Guy?

Imo what all 'true' Big Guys have in common is that:
A) they all have STR5+
B) suffer from Loner AND Wild Animal, Really Stupid or any other negative trait
C) have no normal access to General Skills (like Block )
Therefore I do not consider a gob Fanatic a BG since he only suffers from A & C, but does not suffer from Loner.
But hey that is just my opinion and I'm curious what you devs think?
:?: I mean what if an entirely new character is created who only starts with STR5 but does not suffer from Loner, isn't stupid or wild and has access to General Skills, is this character then automatically considered a Big Guy?
( :D granted this character would be op but that doesn't make him a BG)

The trouble with B) is that halfing trees and ogre team ogres lack loner. Plus the Deathroller has no negatraits. Also mummies and Tomb Guardians are seen by many as big guys as they have ST5 and strength access only but lack loner or negatraits.

I’d certainly agree that the fanatic shouldn’t count towards this rule as he has 2 serious hindrances (random movement and being auto KO’d minimum when knocked over).
