Cyanide, so sell me on this then...

PostTue Apr 10, 2012 7:01 pm

Dear Cyanide (no fanbois, I want to hear from Cyanide),

Given Cyanide's poor track record on games other than cycling simulations (BB1, BB:LE, Game of Thrones, Confrontation), please explain to me why I should invest any more of my money in your products, which in my experience, have been bug-ridden, incomplete and unsupported? Please explain why I should believe you can make a fun version of a game I have really enjoyed as a table-top game, and not something that is going to cause more frustrations as yet another match is lost due to a synch error, or the game freezing due to the skills not being implemented correctly. Please explain to me how you can convince me that this won't be full of the same bugs that were reported to you during the testing of [b]BB1[/i] and yet still haven't been fixed.

And more importantly, please convince me that you won't leave yet another community with a half-finished game 6 months after release.

Regards,

Darkson (playing BB from 1st edition, and still wanting a complete PC conversion to the PC)
I'd love to play Blood Bowl on the PC, but I want a FULL version, not some bugged, incomplete one.

Is it not a rhetorical question ?
If you can't be convinced that this game will satisfy your expectations... I dont see the point posting here.

It´s that simple: If this game pleases you, buy it and be part of the community. If not, spend your time with other things you like to do ... oh wait, I forgot. Trolling is your most favourite hobby. So feel free to troll around like on the other forums and have the same great time, you have there.

I´ll buy this, I think, like I bought Bloodbowl. Because I never had so much fun with another game, spending so less money for this huge amount of fun I had and have. Every game has its bugs, so Bloodbowl has, and Dungeonbowl will have. And almost every game has a really poor support - so it´s the same like with all the other games. If I only would buy games with no bugs, or daily bugfixes, I could buy NO game

Cyanide's Blood Bowl (and LE) are one the most buggy PC games I have played. Game breaking bugs and crashes, missing players etc. Cyanide is now free of Focus so maybe they were holding Cyanide back or not. Why should I buy this one?

Wow, really.. I play Blood Bowl all the time. I hardly ever have problems. An occasional disconnect is about the worse thing I have experienced, but assumed that was internet connections. I know the game requires a sufficent amount of resources and can be taxing on some older computers. I haven't spent much time on the forums of the game, and didn't know people had problems running it. For me it is launch, play matches, destroy opponents- sorry to hear other folks have issues.

Yeah, no kidding it is pretty bad. The bugs affect some races more than others but that does not make it acceptable. The bugs are pretty well documented so I have no idea why they don't fix them, maybe they are incompetent or don't have resources. I don't really care why, I just want stable product.

I know the bugs. But, in a 300 matches online and a few more against the crapy AI, i dont see it as a game breaking issue. Some skills are nerfed (break tacle, juggernaut...). Some bugs are annoying. No more.

Also the GUI and Usability are really bad.
The core part - private leagues are not supported by an API or even simple Admin-interface. The Replay Player is a joke. Just fast forward, no backwards, no jumping in concrete turns. And there is no spectator mode. Something every private league would die for.

After all u see that Cyanide is a very small company that can not afford to look at customers. Cyanide has to focus not to go bankrupt. Sad but true. I am very happy that there is a Blood Bowl Version for PC after all those years but we all know it could have been much better if it had be done by a more professional or lets say: specialised game studio. Hey, Cyanide did a Cycle-Manager before BB!

But let be thankfull that GW agreed into doing this Online-Version with Cyanide.

Only because they could get more money than they'd have got from suing - if Cyanide had had the financial clout of, say, THQ, then they'd have happily taken the damages, and we wouldn't have got a game.

Simple really. Don't buy it straight away. Wait to see what the 'early adopters' say.

Eventually it will be cheap enough to be worth while. ;)

It can't be any worse than this one.
