I support this idea. The same chances as fouling, seems very fitting both in game mechanics and the setting. Has anyone already uncovered any downsides to this or is it good to go?

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. We can not change the Games Workshop official rosters at the moment. So making the Deathroller a Star Player for example, is not something feasible for now....


Wrong, you add the Khorne Deamon roster (non officials). And The Death Roller was Never in the Dungeon Bowl. And you remove some Star Players from the game. Remember there is 6 Stars per team. GW is ok with that ?

Well the rules with Troll race was BEFORE The LRB 6, when Big Guys was not on the roster (and there was no DR and secret weapon too) so it's irrevelant here.
And you change the Grey Wizards Roster too. You switch Human with Chaos.


cannot take more than 2 tomb guardians, ogre teams cannot take more than 2 ogres etc....


Yeah and that's not a problem it's not one roster it's 3 rosters in 1. So Ogre and Khemri will not be alone.

But don't worry about that because Khemri and Ogre (not as a 3th race) will never be in the game.

So Cyanide, if you understand, you can change the 3rd race Jade into Ogre and think about making some other change too. (it's just an exemple)

4 Jade - Gob-Orque-Troll => OGRE
5 Celestial - Haut Elf-Sylvain-Homme Arbre => HALF or Pro Elf
6 Grey - Chaos-Humain-Ogre
7 Amethyst - Skaven-Gob-Mino = > CHAOS or NURGLE
8 Amber - Dark Elve-Orque-Skaven
9 Dark - Mort Vivant-Dark Elve-Troll => GOB
10 Golden - Orque-Nain Chaos-Kroxigor => Lizard

Adding "Kroxigor" was already a pretty big change.

I guess they're allowed to mess with the DB rosters as much as they want, but the BB rosters not at all (and adding Troll rosters or whatever doesn't count because addition somehow doesn't count as change). How about just removing dwarves from Bright and Light? :lol:

I'd love to play Blood Bowl on the PC, but I want a FULL version, not some bugged, incomplete one.

Well Jolly tried at least, but GW is making such an important change difficult. If the rosters can't be changed, at least Secret Weapon could be implemented after 8 turns or something. That has no affect on the roster lineup at all.

Yeah, Jolly tried. Only good things to say about her, she listens and actually seems like she cares.

But... Jolly, take this seriously. The proposed "fix" will likely break more than it fixes, for reasons already given. An st 5 player is really not the same as a "big guy". Mummys for instance, I would not label a big guy. Same with fanatic. But most importantly, the "fix" only breaks the deathroller even more. Only 2 big guys in itself is not a bad idea though - but don't make some strange st 5+ rule, name certain players specifically. The deathroller needs direct attention and action.

Why not just make a bug that suddenly makes the deathroller disappear? ;) You know, many things are not according to the rules due to bugs, so just "accidently" bug the deathroller out of the game :mrgreen: We won't tell Grandma Wendy

Not quite correct about the Roller, it wasn’t in 2nd edition Bloodbowl but was available under the 3rd edition article published in White Dwarf (the one linked to on this site).

That article was written when the 3rd edition rules set 1st came out and in those rules you could have up to 4 star players as permanent members of your team. In fact there was a rules clarification that allowed you to have multiples of each star so 4 counts *shudder*. As the deathroller was a dwarf star then it was allowed in dungeonbowl.

Of course up till lrb5 it was still a star player. Not only that but if you knocked it over then it was automatically badly hurt and out the game.

The death roller first appeared in the Blood bowl Companion and it was for BB 2nd edition. ;)
