Dungey night

PostTue Jun 12, 2012 1:22 pm

As it's very early for this games community would it be good to organise one or two days a week when players could challenge one another?

I was thinking an evening in the week might be an ideal way that we all can get a game. A league might be tough to organise but certainly I wanted to try and get people talking

Discuss away :)

Sounds good to me. What's the best way to organise this? Perhaps start a thread in the general forum with a date (about a week or so in advance?) for the dungey night and get those interested to post when they'll be around on that day? People could perhaps also suggest dungeons to try out - if we pick a couple to focus on each night then we could get wider feedback than if we just leave it to chance.

That would help some of the better amateur creations get some better ratings, compared to the odd method of looking at the preview and down-rating it because it didn't look like the shape of a pitch.

To the Devs, could be get some kind of better filtering of the user created maps. Atm if I want to find the highest rated I have to scroll through 8 pages (and growing) to find them. You can sort players by name and what they are doing on the main lobby...could this be extended to the map area, I feel some gems are getting lost amongst the masses.

I'd be up for it, especially with some random maps being thrown in

Saturday nights are actually the worst for me - as I'm usually in the pub (and I've not installed DB on my laptop ;) ).

Wednesday and Sunday evenings are best for me, though I can generally make any evening other than Saturday and Tuesday.

I don't think we should make the evening fixed though, but have it a semi-regular event, where we pick a different evening every couple of weeks. That way if someone has a Clash for a specific evening then they may still be able to make it on another day.

Sounds like a plan Doug :D I personally found Sundays a better choice for stuff like this, coming from an MMO background.

Without knowing if this would work, I mean out of those that play how many actually read the forums at all lol, it might be a good plan to just select a day for sometime next week, knock a quick poster up and see if the nice chaps at Cyanide would stick it on their Facebook page?

Even if it just turns out to be a one-off event, it might generate a bit more interest out there.

TrickyD has come up with another interesting map called Disco Inferno, that I think a few more people should have a look at and comment on.

Rogue, Tricky, Evilstein, Millandson, Waldorf, RobertJ, Coach, Deletio, Chel, SaintPaul, Doomy?...what do you guys think? (a list off the top of my head from seeing them online)
