Onlaunch video bug

PostFri Jun 01, 2012 5:17 pm

Some players have had issues with the videos when the game is starting. After the logos, the game crashes. A solution has been found by Roi Lorcan ; while waiting for something better, please use it:

- Go to the directory where you installed the game. This is (probably) C:\Program Files (x86)\Cyanide\Dungeonbowl\
- Navigate to the Data\Videos directory
- Rename the Dungeon.avi file (for example, to old Dungeon.avi)
- Copy and paste the existing Cyanide.avi file and rename it as Dungeon.avi
- You'll now have 2 Cyanide banners at launch, but the game should start.

You have to rename (or delete) the old Dungeon file first - as per the instructions Silmael gave.

As a Steam user, I do not believe this file is installed, so this work around doesn't appear help those who have used Steam.

The dungeon.avi file is installed with steam. That is not the issue though. Renaming does nothing for me, the game still will not run after the intro banner avis run. It just crashes to desktop with no message or anything.
