Will the dungeons be randomly generated every game, or will they be a set of fixed, never-changing maps?

I think this game could be a lot of fun.

As there has never been an “official” crp rule set for Dungeonbowl then that gives Cyanide a little more room to play with. I think the key is to get the core rules working correctly, I am glad they are not wasting effort on the woeful real time mode.

I was looking over the team make ups from the old White Dwarf article and they really do need updating as they only included the 12 original teams and Norse. It would be a real shame to lose Amazons, Necros, Khemri, Ogres, Pro Elfs, Nurgle, Vampires and Lizardmen. Hopefully Chaos Dwarfs and Underworld will be useable too.

It'll be interesting to see what tweaks have been made to the original rules to make them fit with the new races and rules :)

Neither the rules, nor the races are 'new'. They've been around in TT for a long time, so saying 'new races and rules' is just narrowing it down to the Cyanide version. :P

If anyone cares, here's the newest rules for Dungeonbowl, used by the Colleges of Magic Cup tournament -> Colleges of Magic Cup rules

I know. I was talking about what tweaks have been made to the original Dungeon Bowl rules to take into account the new races and rules introduced since 3rd edition BB (ie - whether it'll use CRP rules and races, and if they use CRP races, how they'll be allocated through the Colleges, since some of the Colleges have races that no longer exist [like the Minotaur team, etc]).

I think it's safe to say they won't be using rules made up by people for a TT tourney.

*blink* They are quite "new" in the sense that they were added after the last "official" version of Dungeonbowl rules - those rules include several teams which no longer exist, and don't include several official teams added in subsequent versions. And, no, fan-generated rules for a TT competition aren't all that useful for the context of the conversation.

So, yeah, I'm still kinda curious about the answer to what ruleset the cyanide version is going to hew to. I'm presuming they're not going to have 3rd-edition rules in play?

@MattDakka : They will not be randomly generated every game. We're preparing a press release about the dungeons, you should know more about that this week, if everythings ok with GW. :)

Thanks for the reply!
Looking forward to know how many dungeons will be present in Dungeonbowl.

Blitz might, you know, allow you the flexibility to open up the dungeons and extra rules to BBLE/BBCE teams...for example... ;)

Blitz is basically crap as its supposed to be turn based as per the rules and was probably only implemented as that was how Chaos League was programmed originally.

I do have a question about a specific skill:

Does a Treeman still need to roll for falling in a pit, when he has "Taken Root" and makes/receives a block beside a dangerous field?

Is there any description anywhere about such things? Or who would decide such rules? In this case: Take Root means (by definition), the player cant "stumble" into a pit. One can argue, that sidestep and stand firm could grant similar benefits, but take root defenitly should do..
