Personally, of course, I would love to see it go. It really sucks the air out of any game, particularly those featuring Grey or Jade on the other side.

well i have DRs in a couple of teams (my light ones, dont think my brights do) but would happily lose it if nobody else had one.
yet would hate to be limited in big guys apart from the actual rules (which limits loners) but then we know cyanide dont actually follow the actual rules

This is a step in the wrong direction. Please ask Games Workshop if you can leave the rule as it is now.

For teams already created can not do anything (technically very complicated). But as players die quickly, it should stabilize gradually. For college Jade we will see, but it will be difficult to remove a race without the permission of Games Workshop. I'll let you know.

translation from a post by jolly in the french forum. so load up on big guys now.
shame he couldnt answer my post about the what happens when get str5 player through skill increase, but then the french forum does get more attention and their ideas are usually the ones to go through.

agreed with wedsnesday, just leave it as it is if you're not going to fix the DR theres no point messing around.

Much better, REMOVE Games Workshop from Blood Bowl

Yeah ! The Death Roller Must be a Star Player. It's the better solution.

just remove it totally, it was never in DB before, nothing wrong with removing it now, after all cyanide are making a complete new team and players for BB (without putting in the semi-official ones 1st) so removing the DR would be no problem.

question for jolly, did you put any of the suggestions from the english forum forwards? as there are far more than just tristelune and evilstein over on this one, just look at post counts on the forum. seems the french had one idea, and it was put forward and its quite possibly the worst suggestion out of all of them.

I fear that this is the main reason that we have such a bad plan for the change - there's just not enough flexibility in the changes to the ruleset that cyanide are allowed to make :(

katadder wrote:worst idea yet. nobody had problems with the big guys, they had problems with the deathroller. in what world does cyanide live where this is a good fix.
also what happens if you have a chaos warrior, werewolf etc get +ST, does this apply to your limit so couldnt buy another big guy?
also assuming you want to create more colleges with the other teams (as you said you did) where does this leave khemri and undead?

Good points - I'd not considered what this would do to teams which include undead and +ST bonus players!

JOLLY - please don't change this limitation on big guys until all the original 10 teams are released - then we at look at game balance properly!

Jolly,

Is there any way GW might agree in just making the Deathroller a star player at the very least?

I'm completely bewildered that after a large portion of forum members vehemently protested that the DR should be nerfed, that the only thing to come out of this was limiting big men. This has nothing to do with the other big guys!

Yes, Dungeonbowl is a competitive game, but above all, us players are just trying to have a good time. There are players out there who don't care for the balance and will use whatever means (*ahem* Deathroller) to bash their way to victory... fun be damned.

Hi everybody,

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. We can not change the Games Workshop official rosters at the moment. So making the Deathroller a Star Player for example, is not something feasible for now.

Anyway, we can still continue to work on the rules to have a balancing play (even if we have to submit everything to Games Workshop). If you have any suggestion about the secret weapon or something else, just keep continue to post it here. ;)

How about ruling that having the Deathroller counts as having hired two big guys for your team? That way, if you buy a Deathroller you can't get an extra Ogre, Yhetee or Treeman for your Bright or Light team. Of course, the DR would still remain problematic, but at least there would be some kind of *trade-off* involved in buying the blasted thing, some kind of disadvantage associated with it, which is certainly not the case right now.

It should also be made more expensive.

EDIT: Let me restate that, in and on itself, the two big-guy limit is a step in the right direction, although it is actually counterproductive if the DR remains unchanged. Concerning the Jade Roster, you should not consider the fanatic as a big guy (thus allowing him to be fielded with two "regular" big guys like Trolls), and you should probably change the third "race" into Ogres.

EDIT #2: And did I ever mention that better maps are essential? Once or twice, I think

well you have changed teams by limiting guys of str5 or more. khemri (if they ever make an appearance) cannot take more than 2 tomb guardians, ogre teams cannot take more than 2 ogres etc.
there was never a problem with big guys just the deathroller but for some reason you have taken it into your head to nerf str5 guys or above, way to damage the game even more whilst leaving the deathroller in there, really shouldnt put my faith in cyanide anymore, been burnt too many times that i should have learnt by now.

if you want a secret weapon idea for dungeon bowl, how about after everytime they throw a block, use chainsaw, throw a bomb etc roll a d6, on a 1 they are sent off. so can move freely but any other action can result in sending off.
