Thats why a suggested rise of the cost is a good rulechange, because it scales perfectly. A chainsaw would cost 80k (if doubled) and that would be fine for me. Just ask yourself, if you would want that player on your team, in exchance for another player, that is roughly the same cost (like a elf lineman). On rainbow for example I would love the possibility to trade a lineman against a chainsaw...

Stop with this option, the cost of players can't be modified GW to veto on.

 You don't get it do ya?
Trolls are a race it is not a position.
Orcs are a race and not a position.
The difference between Orcs and Trolls is that Orcs can play positions, like an Orc Blocker or an Orc Thrower.
Since Trolls can't play any postition them being defined as a Race for DB should be enough.
The problem is that Orcs also have Black Orcs and they are a race too, just like Trolls.

It would be a good idea to classify the Black Orc as a Race (and a BG).
Sure a Black Orc does not suffer from Loner, but he only has ST4 and what is more important is that he has normal access to General Skills. So you could say that the Black Orc is a more intelligent BG.
So if Black Orcs are considered a Race (and a BG), I'm sure that Emerald coaches would prefer Black Orcs over Loner Trolls. If the Trolls are substituted with the Black Orcs (as an option for the 3rd Race/ BG) I suggest that Cyanide makes the Trolls still available in the Goblins section since Trolls still have Throw Teammate.
But they have to choose between the Black Orc or Troll for their BG.

Unfortunately this would not work for Mummies since the undead team has no positionals, which makes it a bit of a problem.
The Wight could be considered a Blocker since he has Block, but I have no idea where a Werewolf fits in.

Evilstein wrote:Dark Team as it is plane : 0-16 Undeads- 0-6 Dark Elves- 0-2 Trolls

0-2 Mumies Or Trolls + Some deads + 0-6 AG4 (with the STR 5 Rule)
or
2 Mumies + 2 Trolls + 0-6 AG 4 + Some deads (no limitation rule)

Note : Troll have to be replaced by Gob in my opinion.

You see homeworks are possible...now, you can do it for the 10 Colleges.

8-) I simply don't like to speculate over colleges that you can't playtest right away in DB.

:D I just realised that with Evilstein's help Mummies being an undead's BG might work.
But in order to work properly the Dark Elves have to become the main race (to choose positionals) and the Undead being the secondary race with Mummies being the tertiary race (BGs).

through his speed compared to undead lineman and the fact most people who start with block are blizters (not counting norse/dwarves) then he would be an undead blitzer. mummies would be blockers. ghouls - catchers. werewolves, who knows.

spubbbba : I don’t think we need to balance all the 10 team perfectly, after all normal BB has tiers so I’d be fine with that, just make sure the tier 3 teams are at least fun. With the ST5 rule the Jade College are worse than if you could just pick from a normal Orc team.

The old make up of the 10 teams was known so it seems a little silly to not have decided this beforehand. That way we could have discussed balance knowing all the facts, as any rule implemented now will impact other teams....[...]

Amen to this.

Maybe they'll all be out by the end of the year, if Cyanide backs off of or delays their supposed plan to release new Colleges. I'm sure the 10-12 coaches that are left in the community by that time will be quite happy with the final outcome. At least it might be easier to reach a consensus.

:? I don't see the logic in calling a Mummy a Blocker when he can't block and doesn't even have normal access to the Block skill.
Nor would I call any BG a Blocker since they all suffer from the same problem as the Mummy.

:D As long as the primary Race can play positionals (like the Orcs), the secundairy race can be made up of 'problematic' races whose players aren't easy to be defined in a position (like the Undead). So the tertiary race can be made up of the BGs like the Troll, Mummy, Tomb Guards and even Vampires.
This way all coaches have the choice to specialise in speed & passing, bashing or a hybrid form and every College can have a different BG.

I'd call mummies (and other big guys) blockers - as they just stand there blocking the way ;)

I like your idea of how to organise the races in the colleges - although I'm think we'd be quite limited on which races could be used as primary races if we were to only use races which have easily defined positional players. Also this would require GW to accept that some modifications to the original teams to moving big guys to the tertiary races - which is quite unlikely to happen :?
